Energy Explained in One Minute: The Video Campaign by the Piemonte Energy Helpdesk

In June 2025, the Piemonte Energy Helpdesk launched a new digital communication campaign to promote awareness of energy efficiency, sustainability, and the regional services available to citizens. Active until the autumn, the campaign adopts a modern and straightforward format: a series of short, clear, and accessible videos distributed through the official social media channels of the Region and via targeted online ads.

The initiative is based on a simple but crucial observation: to be effective, public communication must reach people where they spend their time online—on social networks and search engines. The choice of short videos (“shorts”) meets this need, offering quick, mobile-friendly content with a clear, non-bureaucratic tone.

What do the videos cover?

Each video is under 60 seconds long and focuses on a single topic related to energy and sustainability. Some of the topics include:

  • Why install photovoltaic panels?

  • What are energy communities?

  • What is the Piemonte Energy Helpdesk?

A Digital Helpdesk for the Energy of Tomorrow

This campaign is part of a broader regional policy framework aimed at supporting the energy transition and encouraging active citizen participation. The Piemonte Energy Helpdesk serves as the point of contact between citizens and institutions, offering guidance on regulations, incentives, and best practices for consuming less and consuming better. By adopting a “video first” approach, the Region demonstrates its commitment to modern public administration—focusing on transparency, inclusive communication, and digital literacy. This campaign is a good example of effective public digital communication. In less than a minute, each video explains complex topics in simple terms, sparking curiosity and promoting sustainable behavior. As autumn approaches, it will be interesting to monitor its impact on citizens in Piemonte and the growing use of the Energy Helpdesk’s services.
