On June 24th, the 10th edition of Circonomia, the Festival of Circular Economy and Ecological Transition promoted by Cooperativa Erica, AICA, and GMI, concluded at the Rondò dei Talenti in Cuneo.

The final event focused on Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) and brought together institutions, technicians, businesses, associations, and citizens to discuss the opportunities offered by RECs in light of the new decree from the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.

After the welcome remarks by Luca Serale, Deputy Mayor of Cuneo, Stefano Dotta (Environment Park) delivered a technical presentation outlining the regulatory framework and prospects for the development of energy communities, also introducing the RECROSSES project.

The event continued with the presentation of several local initiatives, including CER Roero, CER Solidale Alba, Langhe e Roero, Rodello, Magliano Alpi, MONDOCER, and Confartigianato Cuneo, offering concrete examples of an ongoing energy transition that is already delivering environmental, economic, and social benefits.

The meeting concluded with Elena Merlatti, Vice President of Fondazione CRC, who reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting the growth of energy communities across the region.

A well-attended event that highlighted the importance of building networks to create local, sustainable, and inclusive shared energy models.
